Premature birth is a major cause of death and lifelong illness of newborn babies in the UK. Much of our research is devoted to predicting and preventing it from happening. One discovery has made a huge difference to our ability to treat women in time.

Investigating the causes of premature birth and preventing it from happening suffers from a shocking lack underfunding in the UK. It doesn't have to be this way – and our research is finding the answers. But research into pregnancy loss is currently seriously underfunded compared to other medical conditions.
