Cat Deeley and her husband Patrick Kielty have announced that they’re expecting their second child in the spring.
Over the moon to share that Milo is going to be a big brother! Can’t wait to be a family of four in the spring. We’re all so excited. ❤️

In the past, Cat has spoken about wanting a bigger family and her worries about getting pregnant again. These fears came after doctors told her she was “triple high risk” due to her age, and called her a “geriatric mum”.
Pregnancy over the age of 35
Fertility starts to fall after the mid-thirties, which is why doctors often advise women to have children before they are 35 years old. It can be harder to conceive for some couples, but it is not impossible.
- At 35, 95% of women can get pregnant after three years of having regular unprotected sex.
- At 38, 75% can get pregnant after three years of having regular unprotected sex.
The risk of pregnancy complications can also increase, which is why these mothers will be cared for by a consultant team throughout their pregnancy.
Advice if you're trying to get pregnant
If you’re trying to get pregnant - at any age - the best advice is to lead a healthy lifestyle. This means:
- exercising regularly
- eating a balanced diet
- stop smoking
- drink less alcohol
- make other small lifestyle changes.
When to speak to a doctor about fertility
If you are over 35, speak to your doctor if you have:
- been trying for six months and are not pregnant yet.
- other health problems that might be affecting your fertility, such as polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) or endometriosis.
