Tommy's Awards 2019

As Tommy’s originally began 27 years ago to tackle premature birth it seems fitting that we start with the Little Champion Award, which recognises the tremendous courage and determination shown by a child born prematurely who has fought and triumphed against all odds.

The Inspirational Mum Award recognises a mum who has gone through a difficult pregnancy journey and made it through with bravery and courage. This year, we awarded the Tommy’s Inspirational Mum award to the incredible Ola Adegbenro.

This is a special award given to someone who has bravely and unflinchingly spoken out about her own pregnancy experience and given hope to others. Jenniehas written bravely and honesty about her experience of recurrent miscarriage.

This award celebrates a sibling who has proven to be wise beyond their years after the loss or early arrival of a sibling.This year it went to a very special boy who goes out of his way to help his family and keep his sister Lola in their hearts.

The Star Researcher Award celebrates someone who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to stimulating enthusiasm and interest in pregnancy complications research amongst the general public.

This award recognises a dad who has gone through a difficult pregnancy journey with bravery and courage and stood in solidarity and support with their partner.This year’s very deserving winner, is Zeghum Shah, who was nominated by his wife Sidra.
