Head of Research
Location: London, Hybrid
Hours: Full time/35 hours per week
Contract type: Permanent
Salary: £49,000-£53,000
Annual leave: 25 days per year + bank holidays
Tommy's is at an exciting time with a new strategy and delivering against it to reach our goals. We need an exceptional and motivated individual to lead our research function. The post holder will ensure that our £2 million annual research spend funds the best work. They will lead funding, governance, public and patient involvement and work closely with the Director for Research, Programmes and Impact to support strategic delivery.
The Head of Research will understand the research landscape and the processes required for research funding and governance. They must also understand the role that the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC) has in supporting this. The post holder will be a strong communicator who can build relationships at all levels, both internally and externally, and work effectively to deadlines and under pressure.
If you have experience in the research funding environment, a strong commitment to patient and public engagement, and are a self-starter who can drive forward programmes of activity, apply now.

Trustee and Member of Audit Committee

To complement the skills and experience of the existing Trustees, we are looking for a new board member with expertise in finance. In addition to joining the Board of Trustees, the role will include a position on the Audit Committee. You will be a qualified account, with an excellent understanding of governance. London Landmarks Half Marathon - Event Customer Service Assistant (Fixed Term)

Hours: Full time/ 35 hours per week
Contract type: Fixed-term contract to 30 April 2025.
Salary: £25,500 - £26,406
Annual leave: 25 days per year + bank holidays
We're seeking an Event Customer Service Assistant to join the London Landmarks Half Marathon (LLHM) team on a short-term contract, starting in early December 2024 and finishing 30th April 2025, to provide event support in the lead up to LLHM 2025 on Sunday 6 April.
This is an incredibly exciting time to join the team and gain fantastic experience in both the charity and events industry at one of the UK's leading mass participation events, which is owned and operated by Tommy's. The LLHM is the only closed road half marathon to go through both the City of London and City of Westminster, and this year's event will welcome 20,000 runners to raise millions for the charity sector.
The Event Assistant will provide excellent customer service to our runners, as well as managing and dealing with event enquiries, supporting over 550 charity partners, and helping to deliver a one-of-a-kind event alongside our partners, key stakeholders, community organisations and volunteers.
We are not necessarily looking for past experience in a similar role, but for transferable skills and personal attributes to deliver excellent customer service and be a good all-rounder with fantastic administration and communication skills. Overall, you should have a passion for the LLHM event and Tommy’s cause.
The Event Customer Service Assistant will work closely with all members of the LLHM team and receive training and insight into how a large-scale mass participation event is delivered. This is a vital role and is integral to the success of the London Landmarks Half Marathon.

Maternity Consortium Co-ordinator and Engagement Lead (6-month Fixed-Term Contract or Secondment)
We are looking for someone who is passionate about reducing health inequalities and collaborative working. You will be a great communicator with experience of successfully developing and managing collaborative projects, along with the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and networks.
Additionally, you will need to be proactive with the ability to work across different organisations and on your own initiative. You will have the skills to be able to absorb and understand complex issues and get them across in a clear and concise way.
We need someone who can coordinate the planning, engagement, events and policy activity of the Maternity Consortium. A summary of previous Maternity Consortium projects is available here.
You will be a people person with a positive, warm style, who can support and motivate people and organisations to engage with projects.
Please note this role will be offered on either a 6-month fixed-term contract or secondment. The successful candidate will need to be able to start the role during October 2024.
